Baby Greta! Her mom and I go way back and it was such a pleasure to be able to take her newborn photos at her cozy Austin home.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to photograph a newborn and while there are trends that are very popular right now, I’ve decided that what I want to capture is your baby, not just any baby, in it’s environment with his or her new family. Your home doesn’t have to be pristine, you don’t have to look perfect (what new parent does?). I just want to show the beauty of the new person in your life and document your love.

Babies are their own special kind of art.

Oh this darling trio of kiddos! An old friend of mine asked me to photograph her three sweet kids and I couldn’t have been more happy to oblige, especially when they rolled up looking this cute! We had missing front teeth, fun curly hair, tutus and toddler who I gladly chased all over Mayfield Park. Mom is in the middle of cedar fever, but I am looking forward to capturing the entire family of five later on this year!

I am also a huge fan of these clothing choices. I love how modern and crisp they look.

Baby Callum is here! I had a wonderful morning spent photographing this handsome Austin newborn, his parents and their ‘first borns’, the doggies.

This little guy is very loved in his new home. Mom, Dad, the dogs; everyone loves this little fellow. It was a delight to meet him and share in the love for a little while. Erin and Mike are natural parents and I’m so thrilled I get to follow this sweet family for the first year.

Maternity | Jackie and Matt

2012 | I’m Back!

Goodness me, my poor abandoned little piece of the web!

I realize it looks like I fell of the face of the world last February and in a way I did. We faced a VERY scary situation with our only child that knocked me on my butt for several weeks after my big grand opening announcement. Everything turned out fantastically, but I never really caught up over here.

I photographed lots and lots of beautiful babies and bellies and families last year and I want you to see them!

In the next few weeks, please check back here often – there will be a blog-o-palooza happening.

It’s so fun posting these sessions from last year! I love looking back and am SO thrilled I have a place where the families can take center stage.

Love this family. Two rambunctious little boys, the sweetest little girl and two parents who love to laugh. I felt like I had know Kelley for years – we had the most fun phone chat before this session.

We had a great afternoon shooting and playing. Love you guys!
